August 10th Weekly Update
WATERSMEET TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT
The week of August 10, 2020 Update
Dear Parents and Students:
1. Student Belongings Pickup:
At the August 3rd school board meeting, the school board directed the administration to plan for the start of school with students in attendance in a face-to-face manner. The start date for students is on August 25, 2020. A public meeting that was scheduled for August 11th at the Township Pavilion had to be cancelled by the County Health Department due to the increasing number of positive COVID-19 test increasing in the community. Another meeting is being scheduled and will be announced as soon as it is approved by the health agencies.
Parents, if you would like to pick up your studentís belongings from their lockers or classrooms, you may call the school (906-358-4054) and set up an appointment to come to the school on August 10th Ė 13th from 9:30 am-1:00 pm. When you call, speak with Roxy Williams who will work with you to get you to the proper locker and classroom. Remember, facemasks and gloves are required to enter the building. In the interest of COVID-19 safety for the individuals in the building and the continued need for sanitation of the building, safety protocols will be strictly enforced.
No more than 10 adult individuals may be in the building at any one time and continued social distancing is expected by anyone in the building as well as facemasks and gloves.
Also, please contact Roxy Williams (906-358-4054) for the Class Supply Lists.

2. Re: Pickup Site for Food Available For All Students:
Watersmeet Township School District is working to make sure all children age 18 and under are fed throughout this difficult time. Ready to eat food will be provided during the week of August 10, 2020. This food will be distributed from Watersmeet Township School District on Tuesday, August 13th, from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm. Students will be given seven (7) days of breakfast and lunch food in the package. The meals are available for all children age 18 and under. This food will not require any additional cooking. If you have questions, please contact Mr. George Peterson III at: 906-358-4504.
Please do everything possible to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy! Be smart about how to protect yourself so you arenít a carrier of the virus to your loved ones. Wear a mask when you are out in public to help prevent the transmission of the virus to yourself and to others and/or become infected from another person transmitting the disease. This is going to take some time but we will get through this extraordinary event together by working together to keep each other and the children safe.
My best wishes and please stay safe,
Dr. Gerald E. Pease
